The Kennedy Group, based in Willoughby, OH, USA, has acquired Label Technique Southeast, Pensacola, FL, USA. This is the company’s second acquisition in the past year. Label Technique Southeast was founded in 1979 as a specialty and custom label manufacturer serving the food and produce market. The company produces primary and secondary labeling solutions, and offers digital printing with sequential numbering and 2D barcoding. The Kennedy Group plans to make use of its production capabilities by introducing its customers to new products such as Roll Fed/ROSO films and promotional response products. The company offers food tracking software, StrataTrace, that allows consumers to identify where food originates and determine any recalls. “The expansion continues our footprint in the Southeast while enhancing our customer base and increasing our capacity and capabilities,” says Michael Kennedy, president of The Kennedy Group. “We look to leverage additional assets to expand their labeling systems portfolio based on The Kennedy Group’s experience today.” Over the coming months, the combined companies will integrate four production plants, its RFID Customer Solutions Center, sales offices in Cleveland, Atlanta, Daytona, Orlando, and Pensacola, as well as affiliate offices. The acquisition of Label Technique follows the recent purchase of Florida Marking Products, a manufacturer of specialty and custom product labels, durable identification products, commercial marking, promotional products, as well as custom signs to industrial and commercial customers. “The Kennedy Group has weathered this treacherous economic climate by investing in its business, both in technology improvements and strategic acquisitions,” Kennedy notes. “Both of our recent acquisitions help us expand our client base, especially in niche and underserved markets. This position ensures our continued growth, regardless of the pace of economic recovery.” The Kennedy Group was established in 1974 as a privately held, family owned business. It specializing in promotional, tracking and identification labels in such markets as health and beauty, private label, retail, industrial, automotive, material handling, biomedical, healthcare, chemical, and agriculture.
